My work is strongly influenced by the combination of natural forms and the functional making that blacksmithing is founded on. Elements of functional industrial objects set into the aesthetics of decorative items. I enjoy exploring the forms that can be made by taking a single flat sheet of metal and folding and bending it to make 3D shapes. With the use of pins and wedges to give the illusion of holding work in place in order to create a sense of tension. My more resent work has been a focus of jewellery taking the elements of the forge work and scaling it down in to wearable items.
